DELTA – Delta South MLA Ian Paton is pleased to learn Translink appears set to expand its 602 bus service rather than cancel this important route.

In its recently-released Southwest Area Transport Plan Phase 2 Draft Report, Translink is proposing to not only maintain this important service between Tsawwassen and Bridgeport Station during peak times but also increase express trips during the non-peak midday period.

“I am thrilled with this draft recommendation, and congratulate everyone who rallied to save this important service,” says Paton. “It’s my hope that Translink will indeed follow through on this recommendation when it finalizes the plan in early 2018, providing more public transportation options for our growing community of South Delta.”

Back in July, Paton joined members of the public in raising concerns about the proposed cancellation of the 602 bus. He thanks Translink for listening to the community’s feedback and modifying the proposal accordingly.
